This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or interact with aromaticelements.com (the “site”).

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

This information helps us understand what products are preferred, what devices our customers use most (helps us make your site experience better), and what times our customers are more apt to be on our site.
• “Web beacons,” “tags,” and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the site. These offer us non-personal information much like our log files.
• Contact Forms – Personal data is captured when someone submits a contact form.  This information is used for customer service purposes only, and we do not use the information submitted through them for marketing purposes.
• Comments/Reviews – When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. Additionally, an anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it.   We may embed Facebook comments and allow social media sharing to allow you to leave comment at our website using your Facebook account or share articles to your social media profiles. These plugins may collect your IP address, your web browser User Agent, store and retrieve cookies on your browser, embed additional tracking, and monitor your interaction with the commenting interface, including correlating your Facebook account with whatever action you take within the interface (such as “liking” someone’s comment or replying to other comments), if you are logged into Facebook. • Media – If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
• Embedded content from other websites (for instance, Youtube videos) – Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. Additionally these websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Additionally, if at any time this website is set up to take purchases, when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we will collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment processor information.  We refer to this information as “Order Information.”

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Order Information.

HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to communicate with you, screen our orders for potential risk or fraud, and
when in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

SHARING YOUR INFORMATION

We share your non-identifying Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Information, as described above. This data is also shared with our security program.  The IP address of visitors, user ID of logged in users, and username of login attempts are conditionally logged to check for malicious activity and to protect the site from specific kinds of attacks. Examples of conditions when logging occurs include login attempts, log out requests, requests for suspicious URLs, changes to site content, and password updates. This information is retained for 60 days.  This site is scanned for potential malware and vulnerabilities by Sucuri’s SiteCheck. We do not send personal information to Sucuri; however, Sucuri could find personal information posted publicly (such as in comments) during their scan. This site is part of a network of sites that protect against distributed brute force attacks. To enable this protection, the IP address of visitors attempting to log into the site is shared with a service provided by ithemes.com. Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

DATA RETENTION

When you place an order through the site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.

CHANGES
